Schaller Gallery Launches 'Small Rays of Hope and Fragments of a Larger Idea' Art Competition

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2007 -- Rhonda Schaller Studio, the rapidly growing Chelsea art Gallery featuring photographers, emerging artists, and re-emerging artists in museum and public collections, has launched the "Small Rays of Hope and Fragments of a Larger Idea" juried competition for artists and photographers.

The competition is open to all artists 21+. Applications for submission now being accepted and must be completed by September 15, 2007. There will be five awards of $250 given as honorariums, a second place award of $300 and a $500 award given as Best in Show. Blue Pearl Press will publish "HOPE 2008" a color calendar featuring selected works from the exhibition.

Works will be on view Thursday December 6th until Thursday, December 20th, 2007. Opening Reception: Saturday December 8th 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The gallery will be designed with small "windows" -- a lattice grid of 10" x 10" frames installed on the walls, within which artists may present their small rays of hope.

The gallery wants to play an active role at promoting opportunities for emerging and established artists within the visual arts community. Last year, Rhonda Schaller Studio was founded as a fresh approach to the art world. It is a working artist studio, mentoring space, and art gallery.
